The goal of the project is to elucidate the mechanisms by which experimental traumatic brain injury accelerates Alzheimer’s disease related pathologies using transgenic mouse models.
“CTE and Posttraumatic Neurodegeneration: Neuropathology and Ex Vivo Imaging” (PI: A. McKee, Subproject 3 PI: Brody).
The goal of the subproject is to perform high resolution ex vivo radiological pathological correlation analyses of traumatic axonal injury using DTI in human CTE brain.

The goal of the project is to develop blood and spinal fluid tests to diagnose chronic traumatic encephalopathy. These tests will be developed in mice, for future use in people.
