Dr. Awadalla is Professor of Neurology and Section Head of General Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
Dr. Awadalla has dedicated her career to being a clinician. She is a member of the Missouri State Medical Association. She is board certified in Neurology and Headache. She began her private practice at Barnes Hospital and affiliation with Washington University in 1989 where she remained until she was asked to join the full time faculty of Washington University in 2004. She sees a wide variety of neurological disorders and has a special interest in Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and Headache disorders. Her interest in Neurology was sparked by her undergraduate studies at McGill University where she learned about human behavior and the brain. She is intrigued by the complexity of the brain and the effects of the various diseases on a patient’s ability to function. She is a dedicated teacher and enjoys educating medical students, residents, fellows and her patients. She has a full time practice in general neurology, consults on inpatients at BJC, and attends in the resident’s clinics.
