The Clinical Neurophysiology program at Washington University in St. Louis is designed to train specialists in a particular area of clinical neurophysiology, often in preparation for a career in academic neurology. Training is available with a focus on EEG/Epilepsy (adult or pediatric) or with a focus on EMG/Neuromuscular diseases. The Clinical Neurophysiology program is an intensive, one year, ACGME certified, clinical training program with an option for a second year. Upon successful completion of the first year of training, fellows will be eligible to sit for the ABPN Clinical Neurophysiology Board Examination.
The second year may be devoted to a negotiable combination of additional clinical training, clinical research and laboratory based research, and is intended to provide additional preparation for a career in academic neurology. Fellows may participate in ongoing clinical trials or ongoing laboratory research anywhere in the medical school. All fellows will be assigned one, and occasionally two, faculty mentors.
Prerequisites for application include successful completion of an ACGME approved neurology residency program. The applicant must be able to obtain a Missouri Medical license. Applicants should send a CV, a statement of career goals and three letters of recommendation to Dr. Lawrence Eisenman care of Ms. Donna Theiss.
