Laura Piccio, MD, PhD

Dr. Piccio works in the MS section of Neurology, she recieved the 2008 Whitaker prize award for research in Multiple Sclerosis at the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC).

Medical Training

In 1997 Dr. Piccio received her M.D "cum laude", the University of Milano, Italy. In 2003 she completed her residency in Neurology, Department of Neurological Science, Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, University of Milano, Italy. In 2003, Dr. Piccio was a Research Fellow, Department of Immunology, Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, MO, USA.

In Oct 2005 she was a Clinical Fellow, Department of Neurological Sciences, Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, University of Milano, Italy.

In 2007, Dr. Piccio received her PhD in Neurological Science, University of Milan, Italy, and in Sept 2008, she completed a fellowship of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Department of Neurology, Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, MO, USA.

She is currently a Research Instructor, Neuroimmunolgy Section, Department of Neurology, Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, MO, USA.

Dr. Piccio was awarded the highly prestigious five-year Harry Weaver Neuroscience Scholar award from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in 2010.
