Dr. Pestronk is the Director of the Neuromuscular Division and Director of theNeuromuscular Clinical Laboratory at Washington University School of Medicine. He was Board Certified by the Maryland Board of Medical Examiners in 1971 and the Missouri Board of Healing Arts in 1989. He also holds a certification in Pathology in Nerve and Muscle from the AAN. Dr. Pestronk's fields of interest include: Clinical Neurology Immune myopathies Neuromuscular Disease Neuroimmunology Aging and the Nervous System Committees: Medical Record and Review, 1977-80 Joint Committee on Clinical Investigation, 1980-1983 Joint Committee on House Staff and Postdoctoral Programs, 1983-1987 Chairman, Neurology Residency Selection Committee, 1982-1986 Coordinator of Residency Education Neurology, 1983-1986 Medical School Council, 1988-1989 Clinical Research Center Advisory Board, 1990-2005 Neurology Residency Selection Committee 1991-2004
Medical TrainingDr. Pestronk recieved his BA in 1966 from Princeton University, and graduated with his MD from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1970. He was an Intern in Internal Medicine at Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO, 1970-1971, a Resident of Neurology at Johns Hopkins, 1971-74 and a Neuromuscular Clinical and Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins, 1974-77, and an Assistant and Associate Professor at John's Hopkins from 1977-1989.
