Section Heads

We are divided into 16 Sections under the Department Head. Each Section is lead by a Section Head.


Michael J. Noetzel, MD is the Director of the Division of Pediatric and Developmental Neurology; Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics and the Medical Director of Therapy Services at St. Louis Children's Hospital.	Steven E. Petersen, PhD is the James S. McDonnell Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience; Professor of Neurology (Neuropsychology), Associate Professor of Anatomy & Neurobiology, Neurological Surgery (Neuropsychology) and Psychology Chief of the Neuropsychology Division.	John Morris, MD is the Harvey A and Dorismae Friedman Distinguished Professor of Neurology; Professor of Pathology and Immunology; Professor of Physical Therapy; Director of the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center; Director of the Center for Aging; Director of the Memory and Aging Project.	Jin-Moo Lee, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor of Neurology and the Director of the Stroke Center and Cerebrovascular Diseases.

R. Edward Hogan, MD is an Associate Professor of Neurology and the Director of the Adult Epilepsy Center.	Stephen P. Duntley, MD is an Associate Professor of Neurology and Director of the Multidisciplinary Sleep Medicine Center.	Sylvia Awadalla, MD is an associate Professor of Neurology and the Head of the General Neurology Section.	Joel S. Perlmutter, MD is a Professor of Neurology, Radiology and Physical Therapy; Associate Professor of Neurobiology and Head of the Movement Disorders Section.

Dorothy Anne H. Cross, MD is a Professor of Neurology and Head of the Neuroimmunology (MS) Section.	Michael N. Diringer, MD is a Professor of Neurology, Neurological Surgery, Occupational Therapy, and Anesthesiology, the Director of the Neurology-Neurosurgery ICU (NNICU)and the Head of the Neurological Critical Care Section.	Alan Pestronk, MD is a Professor of Neurology and Pathology, the Head of the Neuromuscular Diseases Section and the Director of the Neuromuscular Clinical Laboratory.	Maurizio Corbetta, MD is the Norman J. Stupp Professor of Neurology, Professor of Neurology, Radiology, and Anatomy and Neurobiology and the Head of the Stroke and Brain Injury Rehabilitation Section.

Oksana Volshteyn, MD is an Associate Professor of Neurology and Medicine and the Head of the Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Section.	David M. Clifford, MD is the Melba and Forest Seay Professor of Clinical Neuropharmacology in Neurology and the Head of the Neuro AIDS Research Consortium.	Mark P. Goldberg, MD is a Professor of Neurology and Neurobiology and Director of the Hope Center for Neurological Disorders.	David H. Gutmann, MD, PhD is the Donald O. Schnuck Family Professor of Neurology, Genetics and Pediatrics and the Head of the Neurofibromatosis Section.
